Wow Harland has his own book! Love the Banners series. Had no idea the books were related. I guess I didn't pay close enough attention. Loved this story. From childhood friends to lovers to enemies. What! How does this happen. Harland is an awesome character. To see him happy and find his forever and, loved how it played out. Probably don't need to read the Banners series to read this book but why not they are just s good.Product details

This time around I found that the life of a pro hockey player can change in an instant, and he still doesn't lose his good character. Not evenwhen everyone around think different.
I absolutely love Ms. Kamps' work. I wanted to read this book because of that fact, however, I didn't want to read about Harland. He was such a jerk in the Banners' series. The first part of this book I was honestly hoping for a romance without a HEA. Then I started seeing cracks in his armor, reasons for his behavior and I got with the program. After that, I could appreciate the interaction between the main characters. (I was still prepared to smack him if he hurt Courtney or, you know who-trying not to introduce a spoiler.) Now, I'm glad for the HEA and can't wait for the next book in this series. Great job, as usual, Lisa.
I loved reading this new hockey series! Hopes and dreams don't always come true. This love story focuses on two people torn apart by the past. They both put their hearts out there for the chance at love. This is a well balanced romance that left me anxiously awaiting for the next book. If you love hockey romance, you will definitely want to read this book!!
What an awesome start to this series! The Author gets a Gordie Howe Hat Trick from me! I love hockey romance, especially when the story isn't the typical every one else is writing and this is different on so many levels. Refreshing and engaging. Instead of concentrating at meeting and such, I found my mind wandering...different ways this story could wind. I can't wait for the next one!!!
A surprise. We met Harland Day in the most recent Baltimore Banners book and cringed when he came into a chapter. I was perplexed to find out he would be the main character of her new York Bombers series' first book. Kamps had Harland's story to tell, and I'm glad she did. Harland gets sent back to a minor league hockey team after a pro season where he fell apart on the ice. There he reconnects with Courtney, and his life and career slowly knit themselves back together with her help. A family emerges from the rubble. I hope we get to see more of Harland, Courtney, and Noah in future books in the series. Their story isn't finished yet, although this book ended with a complete HEA.
I wasn't sure if I was going to like Harland after meeting him in Lisa's Banners series. But as I read his story I fell in love with him. His past has made him who he is, but his past will be the answer to his future. Courtney has loved Hartland for the first time they met, but others with less than honorable intentions have caused problems for her and Hartland.
Enjoy this story of true love winning out over those who will try to stop it.
I could not put this book down from the start.
Looking forward to more from this series.
A new series from Lisa Kamps takes us down to the AHL level and lets us see what happens when you are a bad boy one too many times or when you hit rock bottom and start again. Harland has hit rock bottom and is sent back to the York Bombers to either shape up or give up. He grew up in York. His mother abandoned him when he was younger and now he deals with his alcoholic father living with him. His first love is around the corner but she has secrets like he does. Big ones that could affect his future. I love how Lisa takes a character that you hated in her Banners series and redeems him in this new series. I was set to not like him at all after what happened in his appearance in the Banners' series, but I couldn't help see what Courtney saw and sees in him. Not all actions can be undone, but some courses can be changed.
